Our story
Green Wave is a social enterprise - that trains & employs women living in shelters in Dakar - to support them to become financially independent.
We provide three months of training for free - followed by the offer of a job in our workshop.
As all the silversmiths in Senegal are currently men, we are also hoping this will start a small wave of female silversmiths!
FROM THE STUDIO
Our team
We are currently a team of nine, who work from our studio in Dakar.
This has become our home away from home. Thursdays are our 'community' day where we have team lunch and a training session. And we often have team days out to the beach!
We are planning to grow our community further soon!

Our techniques
We focus on using ancient techniques, with a modern twist - some as old as 2000 years old! We make each piece entirely by hand, enjoying the benefits the creative process has to offer.
We use materials from our local coastline that are either organic or recycled - to minimise our environmental impact.
